1 February 2003 - expansion to national 7-digit plan

Aruba implemented a national 7-digit numbering plan on 1st February 2003.

'5' was prepended to existing 6-digit fixed subscriber numbers. That is, 8xxxxx was changed to 58xxxxx (or internationally, +297 8xxxxx became +297 58xxxxx).

'9' was prepended to TDMA cellular mobile phone subscriber numbers of the form 6xxxxx. That is, these numbers became 96xxxxx (or +297 96xxxxx in international format).
