Numbering range information

1 July 2001 - 1 February 2003: National renumbering from 6 to 7 digits

Botswana began expanding its national numbering from 6 to 7 digits starting 1 June 2001. Changes were scheduled in different regions to take effect on different dates.

The following are the numbering changes in Botswana. Permissive and Mandatory dialling dates listed were based on information from BTA July 2002, with some previously scheduled dates ("Former date") listed on a schedule filed with ITU in late 2001. The table is in order by the former 6-digit numbering range, then by city/area name.

Old New City/Area Permissive Mandatory Former date
