Turks and Caicos numbering ranges updated as of June 2005, since 5 March 2001 (dates of service for these are unknown):

31 May 1997 - +1 649 replaces +1 809

Area code +1 649 replaced the existing overall Caribbean/Atlantic code +1 809 in Turks and Caicos starting 31 May 1997 in permissive mode, and becoming mandatory 30 June 1998. Existing 7-digit subscriber numbers were retained.
